Traffic Junctions The STRASSENHAUS concept for traffic junctions is based on other principles to cross large flows of traffic without using traffic lights: 1. Traffic is subdivided according to classes of vehicles, only passenger vehicles use the upper levels. 2. An intermediate level is located between STRASSENHAUS and at-grade road. Preferably, the intermediate level is equipped with a roundabout. The main feature of a great group of these constructions is the integration of an intermediary level in form of a roundabout. The roundabout can be reached both from the at-grade area as well as from the upper road level of the STRASSENHAUS via road ramps. This entire construction is enclosed by building elements so that it forms a multifunctional building. The series of figures (2 to 6) shows a design of structures which are build over an intersection. A total of 12 entrance and exit ramps is integrated in this traffic junction according to our concept. more >>
