Combinations and Special Forms of STRASSENHAUS

Just like buildings in cities which generally come in a wide variety of forms STRASSENHAUS can also have many forms and variants. The simple forms are presented in chapter base modules. In principle, it is also possible to enclose constructions which are connected to STRASSENHAUS in different ways or build above them.

The following figures of our STRASSENHAUS model illustrate the combination of STRASSENHAUS with other buildings to form an urban area. It is evident that the people are not able to see the road running along the upper part of the structure and that the cityscape is improved.

Combination of base module and bridge
Figure 1: Combination of base module and bridge

Figure 1 shows a bridge as element next to a simple base module. Billboards which do not distract or disturb the drivers are attached to the noise barrier wall.

Thus more room for green areas and people is crated on at-grade areas.

Figure 3: Construction of different modules and a gate building

Within the STRASSENHAUS system a gate building is a module with a covered passage.

Promenade

Figure 5 illustrates clearly how the city is opened up. The elevated transport lane can neither be heard nor seen.
